What an evening of excitement for our juveniles who watched the unfolding of a cliff-hanger in Austin Stack Park on Saturday last. Hearts throbbed with tension and excitement as we went from little worries to deep despair and then to ecstasy as the game ebbed and flowed through the first half, from half-time to full-time, from full-time to extra time and, finally, to penalties! We had many heroes but our superb penalty kickers topped the list....Seán Quilter, Michael O’Donnell, Adam Curran, Michael O’Gara and ‘The Star’ himself (Ciarán Mac Donnchaidh). Joy unconfined for all in The Rock! And our laochra will have to give a similar performance on the 5th December against our K-O’R neighbours to win a 13th Kerry senior football title for our club. Added to our 3 senior hurling titles, we could have 16 senior titles in two weeks!

Wayne’s Warriors

‘Well done’ to Wayne Quillinan and his management advisers, to Dylan Ó Cathasaigh and his fellow players on winning the county senior semi-final v Na Breandánaigh in Austin Stack Park on Saturday last. Níl léamh, scríobh ná insint béil ar an ngaisce a dhein an Cathasach agus a chuid fear ar pháirc na himeartha!! CORN UÍ MHUIRÍ: (i) Congratulations to the Mounthawk footballers, who had a really great victory over Coláiste Chríost Rí (Cathair Chorcaí) in their 2nd round game in the Munster Senior A football competition in Tralee last week (17ú). What a victory...1-7 to 0-3! Football in Kerry colleges has risen to a new height! The Mercy Mounthawk School has now qualified for the Munster quarter-final for the first time in the school’s history! Stair ar an gcor ag an scoil (history in the making)! Imreofar an cluiche ar an 15ú lá d’Eanáir. Go n-éirí go geal le leaideanna Chnoc an tSeabhaic! The Rock players on board: Seosamh de Nógla, Jeaic Ó Murchú, Eimhín Ó Foghlú, Noah Townsend, Cillian Litchfield, Caden Ó Mathúna and Paidí Ó Laighin. Unfortunately, Brian McElligott has picked up an injury; we wish him well! Best wishes to the Hill of the Hawk! (ii) Tralee CBS seniors will also be in Munster quarter-final action ar an 15ú Eanáir and wearing the The Green’s Blue’n’Gold will be Armin Heinrich (an captaen), Conchúr Ó hÓdhráin, Jordan Ó Cíosáin, Donnacha Mac an tSaoir, Ruairí Ó Conaill, Colm de Brún, Séamus Mac Cathail, Damien Ó hÓgáin and Ben Cuiltéir. The Green School is hoping for a 17th Munster Final (A Colleges) victory. An Fhaiche Abú! (iii) Seventeen Rockmen will take part in the top grade of the Munster colleges championship!

Corn Sheáin Uí Mhurchú (Peil Faoi 19):

Tar éis do pheileadóirí Ghaelcholáiste Chiarraí buachaint ar Choláiste an Rísigh, Inis, (in am breise) thug siad aghaidh ar Scoil Chuimsitheach Thairbirt agus bhí bua cuimsitheach eile acu. They’ll now play v Scoil Mhuire is Íde, An Caisleán Nua Thiar, in the quarter-final. Best wishes to Cian Ó Duilleáin and his team.

Club AGM Notification

Austin Stacks LGFA AGM will take place at 7.30pm this Wednesday November 24th, in the Club Bar Hall, Connolly Park.

All registered LGFA Club members and the parent(s) of any registered juvenile members (s) of the Austin Stacks Ladies Club you are invited to attend.

It is very important that each family is represented by a parent/guardian as we will run through important issues relating to the participation of your child/children in the club and you will also have an opportunity to ask questions and offer any opinions on improving the running of the club. Nominations are invited for all officer positions.

Austin Stacks LGFA is Kerry’s largest LGFA club and still growing, we have seen an explosion in playing numbers in our Academy in recent years.

We are very anxious to get new people involved in the club as we urgently require extra help with both admin & coaching if we are to continue to develop our players and run the club to the highest of standards.

If you are someone who would like to get involved in any capacity, please come along on the night. There is a role for everyone regardless of experience & we would really appreciate your help.
