Killarney Athletic 1 - 7 Kingdom Boys
'Boys took one step closer to the League Title with an emphatic win over Athletic at Woodlawn last Saturday. It was a very entertaining game to watch as both sides to their credit played football right throughout but it was Kingdom Boys ability to put the ball into the net which was the deciding factor. Goals from Seán Kennedy 3, Pa Keane 2, Leo Gaxha and Sonny Rramani ensured the victory against a good side in Killarney. All players played particularly well including Darragh Broderick on the left flank, ever dependable Darragh Leen in defence and Terence Carmody at right full back. Cian Devine dealt with everything with assurance and composure in goals with Nathan Holden, Damien Doherty, Daniel Bowler and Tadhg McKenna all contributing to a marvellous win. Unfortunately, John Carmody got injured in the warm up and thus was unable to take his place in the middle of the park but hopefully he will be fit for this week-ends Cup quarter final.
Listowel Celtic 1 - 4 Kingdom Boys
Runners up spot almost assured for our U-15s after a comprehensive away win over our North Kerry rivals in Listowel. This victory was a welcome boost for the squad as they ready themselves for the U-15 National Cup Quarter Final against Swilly Rovers in a week or so time. Goals from Podge Looney, Dillon Robinson, Dara Lowth and Diarmuid O Connor ensured a fine win for 'Boys with all players including Odhran Liston, Dean Meehan and Donagh McKivergan in great form on the day.
Park FC 3 - 2 Kingdom Boys. A major setback for the boys in their quest for League honours as town rivals upset the odds with a hard fought win on Friday night last. Kingdom Boys dominated proceedings but were unable to convert the many chances that they created allowing the Park into the game. Two goals from Dillon Robinson was not enough as Park pounced on defensive errors and ensured that the Title is all up for grabs once again. Kingdom Boys need to win their last two games of the season which will ensure a play-off at least with other contenders including Listowel and Killarney Celtic. Best for Kingdom Boys were Kevin Williams, Mikey Kelliher, Daniel Goggin, David O Connor and Dara Lowth. A Cup Quarter Final now beckons for the lads this Saturday once again against the Park.
U-11 INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Our U-11s bowed out of this Blitz at the semi-final stage after impressive performances in the round-robin stage of this Tournament. Having beaten Park FC two nil with Adam Kelly on the score-sheet for Kingdom Boys, we drew with Killarney Celtic 1-1 with once again Adam Kelly on the mark but came unstuck against Listowel Celtic, going down one nil in a titanic struggle. In the semi-final Kingdom Boys failed to overcome a more physical Killarney Celtic team but great displays by Adam Joy, Philip Evans, Jack O Donoghue, Sean Pollman- Damaan and Sean Horan proved that 'Boys were a match for any side. Others to impress on the day were Zoran Samardzic, Dylan Walsh, Washington, Luke Kerins, Andy Rogers, Sam Blits and Jack Joy. Well done to all players and to coaches Goran and Tommy.
PRE-ACADEMY AND ACADEMY
Our academy continued once again last Friday evening at Tralee Dynamos Soccer Grounds, Cahermoneen with huge numbers again present on a glorious spring evening. Great endeavour and enthusiasm were again shown by all players including new-comer Shane Crossan and others including Jamie Lynch, Dylan Walsh, Adam Wharton, Alex Clifford, Donagh Stephenson, Orgito Jjorgi and Alex Hoare. Training continues this Friday evening, April 11th, once again at Tralee Dynamos Grounds, Cahermoneen from 6 to 7pm. See you all there ! Don't forget to bring the Race-night fundraiser cards with a horses name with €10. Thank you !
