Schoolgirls league gets underway

KERRY SCHOOLGIRLS UNDER 14 THE Kerry Schoolgirls League kicked off with the Under 14 Premier games, while this coming week it will be the U12s and U-17s. If clubs have not entered their teams at this stage they must do so right away.

On the opening weekend of the Under 14s there were wins for Listowel Celtic over Kingdom Girls. Shannon Sheehy (3), Magie Walsh and Leah Henry (2 each) and Racheal Mulvihill were on the mark for the North Kerry side. Leanne O'Brien scored for Kingdom Girls who also had good performances from Norma O'Connor, Caitie Gunne, Lucy Murphy and Clogadh McHugh.

Killarney Celtic B had goals from Emma Dineen, Lauren Rintoul, Siobhan Burns, Emma Burke, Amy O'Grady and Aine O'Donoghue in their win over Athletic for whom Ciara and Niamh Randles and Amy Malone were the stand out players.


THERE were wins for The Park, Killarney Celtic and Kingdom Boys in Group 1, Killorglin B, Killarney Celtic B and Inter Kenmare in Group 2 and Park, Camp, Asdee and Castleisland in Group 3.

JK SPORTS U-12 DIVISION 1 THERE was one game in this Division played and it resulted in a big win for Ballyhar over Listowel Celtic B. James and Anthony Brosnan, James Duggan and Diarmuid O'Donoghue all scored, but the man that was on fire was Dan Callaghan who hit five.
