Leaders share the spoils as chasing pack close the gap
Denny Premier A
Listowel Celtic 0
THE chasing pack were given hope when Castleisland and Listowel Celtic could not be separated playing out a scoreless draw at Castleisland.
Despite not producing a goal this was a very entertaining top of the table clash, which could have gone either way right up to the very end. This was a game where the goalkeepers shone out with Kevin Moran making three outstanding saves for Castleisland in the first half, while Darragh O'Shea also made fine saves for Celtic.
Listowel will be the happier side with the result as they maintain their four point lead at the top of the table and remain unbeaten since the start of the season which is a great achievement.
These two sides are leading the way at the top of the table and it is a case of catch me if you can now for the other potential contenders such as Killarney Celtic, The Park and Dingle Bay Rovers.
Killarney Athletic 0
Killarney Celtic 4
THIS local derby was very important to both sides as Celtic could not afford any more defeats if they were to stay in the title race, while Athletic are in a struggle to get out of the relegation zone.
However, the town bragging rights went to Celtic on this occasion with a comfortable win which helps them make up ground on the sides ahead of them in the table. Vladimer Sirotiak 2, Jamie Spillane and J Farouke for the winners.
Killorglin FC 2
The Park 2
A BIG result here for Killorglin holding title contenders The Park to a draw in a game they could actually have won had they taken all their chances. Paul McKenna scored both of Killorglin goals while Mark O'Sullivan and Anthony Murphy scored for The Park.
Killorglin are in a dog fight towards the bottom of the table with Asdee Rovers, Spa Road and Killarney Athletic all fighting for survival and if they can keep picking up points they could steer clear of the drop.
