Killorglin FC see off Ballyhar Dynamos in eight-goal Cup thriller

Killorglin FC 5

Ballyhar Dynamos 3

This was a good cup tie that ebbed and flowed with Ballyhar going ahead with a Kevin Casey goal.

However Killorglin hit back and goals from Lee Carey, Karl Falvey and Gerry O'Brien had the Launesiders leading 3-1 at half time.

Ballyhar pulled one back courtesy of John Hayes setting the scene for an exciting second half.

Killorglin sprung Shane McSweeney from the bench and he netted two goals to put them in the driving seat.

Ballyhar managed another goal from Mike Daly.

Asdee Rovers 2

Tralee Athletic 1

Asdee hosted Division 2B table toppers Tralee Athletic and it turned out to be a good cup tie with the Tralee side giving them a good run for their money.

It looked as if a upset might be on the cards in the first half when the Division 2 side went ahead with a Ciaran Crichlaw goal. It could have got worse for the home side but a couple of good saves by the Asdee custodian Eoin Tydings kept the visitors at bay.

But Asdee got their act together in the second half with a strong wind behind them

Goals from Jerimiah Tydings and a Mark Culloty free kick was enough to win the game for the North Kerry side.

Tralee Dynamos 2

Annascaul FC 0

Annascaul made Tralee Dynamos fight hard for their win but eventually they had to succumb to the superior quality of the Tralee side and their plight was not helped by having a player sent off.

James Wall scored both of Tralee Dynamos goals.

The Annascaul manager Johnny Shea speaking after the game said he was really happy with the way his team played. "We defended well against one of the best teams in Kerry".

"The sending off had a massive effect on the game. "We will take it as experience gained and look forward to the rest of our league campaign and try and get to the Division 2B final."

Skelliga FC 0

Castleisland 0

Skelliga punched well above their weight in Caherciveen and holding the present Greyhound Bar Cup Champions Castleisland to a draw was a great achievement by the Division 2 side.

The man of the match for Skelliga was their goalkeeper Niall O'Driscoll who made some great saves to keep his side in the game.

Mastergeeha 1

A Colm Lenihan goal was enough to put Mastergeeha into the next round.

Listowel Celtic 0

Classic FC 2

For the second time in the space of a couple of weeks Classic accounted for Listowel Celtic this time on a 2-0 score line with Classic's goals coming from Daniel Clinton and Alan O'Shea.

Killarney Celtic 'B' 0

The Park 2

The Park were too strong for Celtic's second string side and goals from Fergal Maunsell and David Courtney was enough to secure a win.
