Tralee Warriors face Killester with Cup final place at stake

On the back of their derby win over Killorglin in the Superleague last Saturday, Garveys Tralee Warriors are back in action this weekend with a National Cup semi-final against Killester, with a first National Cup final appearance at stake for the Tralee club.

Having knocked defending champions Templeogue out of the Cup in the first round, and then accounting for UCC Demons in the last round, Warriors head to the Mardyke Arena in Cork to take on Killester on Saturday evening (8pm) in the second of the two semi-finals. UCD Marian take opn Belfast Star in the other game.

Meanwhile there is an all-Kerry schools basketball semi-final scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at 12.45 when Mercy Mounthawk and Tralee CBS meet in the All-Ireland semi-final of the U-19 'A' Boys Cup in Tralee Sports Complex.

This competition is the blue ribbon event of post-primary schools basketball, with the finals taking place in the National Arena in Tallaght. Kerry schools have a good record in these Cup competitions are are guaranteed at least one school in a final.
