Keen rivals Team Tom McCarthy's and Tralee Imperials

A FEAST of basketball will be available to enthusiasts as Super league and Division One men's and women's semi-finals will be played over the weekend.

When: Saturday, January 12 Venue & time: Gurranabraher, Cork 4pm

Tralee Imperials and St Mary's will be joined in the action by St Brendan's Tralee and Garvey's Castleisland, and at least one Kerry team has to reach the Cup final at the end of January.

These two great rivals are sure to produce a game worthy of the semi-final stage, and there is likely to be little or nothing between the teams at the finish.

These teams are no strangers to each other, having played each other from juvenile right up to senior level.

In the cup so far Team Tom McCarthy's beat Meteors of Dublin 86-40 in the opening round and in the semi final beat UL 54-38.

So far this season Tom McCarthy's have won two games and lost three, with a few injuries niggling at them at the start of the season and six new players coming into the team it took them a while to adjust, but they are now in the swing of things, they will be looking on the likes of Eileen and Philomena O'Connor, Lorraine Scanlon, Tracey Hartnett, Miriam Leane, Reidin O'Loughlin and Mags Daly to name a few to step up on Saturday and control the game from the start as both teams are so used to each other this game should go down to the wire.

Best wishes to both sets of players.
