Brian Wall is first Kerry boxer to fight in European championships

AT last Saturday night's Junior Boxing International at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork, Ireland beat England 12-6, with Cashen Vale boxer Brian Wall beating Harrison Clarke 8-4 in the Middleweight category.

This was Wall's second International win in at the same venue where he beat the talented Scottish boxer Paul Burns two weeks ago.

The team for Saturday's tournament will also represent Ireland at the European Junior Championships in the Festivalna hall, Sofia, Bulgaria from June 22 to July 1. This will be history in the making for Kerry boxing when Brian Wall gloves up at these Championships. Kerry boxers have competed in various tournaments around the world, but never at European Championships.

Meanwhile, at the Tralee Boxing Club Tournament in Ballymullen Army Barracks last Saturday night Cashen Vale boxers Jack Collins and Padraig Holly won their fights, while Dara Keane and Luke Donovan put in great performances in their skill bouts.
