Listowel racehorse owners enjoy three winners in America

Listowel natives Patricia and Maurice Regan, who are proprietors of the magnificent Newtown Anner Stud at Clonmel, Co Tipperary, have enjoyed some memorable racing moment with their high class race horses all over the world, where they have considerable racing interests.

During the past week at Tampa Bay in Florida, they exceeded their expectations by scoring three wins in the space of a week, which included Falling Sky which won the hugely valuable $350,000 feature race at Tampa Bay, under a splendid drive by jockey Jose Espinola, on which he made every yard of the running to win comfortably.

The same jockey was aboard Empire Desire at the same venue a few days earlier, where the combination had terrific satisfaction in beating the Queen's horse Dawn Glory, which was the hot favourite, quite easily having again adopted front running winning tactics, which works so well at that venue.

To complete a memorable week for the outstanding owners, their runner Magical Cat, which only recently transferred from Joe Murphy's stable at Fethard, where he enjoyed considerable success here, made his very first appearance on an American race track a winning one, by leading all the way, in Saturday nights feature event to win comfortably.
