County League final pits Tralee rivals Stacks against O'Rahillys

Kerins O'Rahillys and Austin Stacks will meet in the Credit Union Senior Football League Division 1 Final on Sunday November 17.

The game is a home venue for O'Rahillys by virtue of the fact that they topped the table. Two Killarney clubs, Spa and Killarney Legion along with Laune Rangers are relegated to Division 2. Laune Rangers were last in Division 2 in 2002, Legion spent three years in the top flight, and Spa two.

Division 2

Due to the involvement of Ardfert and Finuge players in the Hurling Final Replay, all games in this Division are put back to November 17th. Finuge have secured promotion to Division 1 next season but that is the only certainty apart from the fact that relegation and promotion issues will not be decided until the last kick of Round 11. Currow and St Pats are best placed to gain promotion but tthen again, they come up against two sides - Ardfert and An Ghaeltacht - fighting against relegation. Only two points separate the bottom nine teams and its odd on that a playoff or two will be needed at both ends of the table.

Division 3

Glenbeigh-Glencar (20 points) have been promoted to Division 2 as champions of Division 3 and Desmonds (18) and Listry (16) are also promoted to Division 2 next season. Division 2 has been a long time coming for Glenbeigh-Glencar who return for the first time since 1984 while it has been an even longer wait for Listry - it's their first time in Division 2 since the early 70's. Desmonds are promoted following relegation last season. Firies, Beaufort and Cordal are relegated to Division 4 next season.

Division 4

Lispole, after an absence of five years, are back in Division 3 as champions on 20 points, Keel, who were relegated last year and Brosna are also promoted, both on 17 points. Brosna last played in Division 3 back in 1997 and are promoted for the second season in a row..

Tuosist, Moyvane and St Senans are relegated to Division 5 next season.

Division 5

Fossa, after two years in the lower Division, are promoted as champions of Division 5 on 20 points, Knocknagoshel and Cromane are also promoted with 17 points each. Knocknagoshel have spent eleven long years in Division 5 while Cromane were five years waiting on a return to the higher Division.

County League trophy

It is proposed to present the winners of each of the Divisions with their trophies on the day of the Senior County League Division 1 final on November 17 in the Kerins O'Rahillys Clubhouse.
