There was double All-Ireland joy for the two Kerry pairings that made their way to Leixlip, Co. Kildare last Sunday. Dominick Lynch and John Joe Quirke (Glenbeigh) in Over 35 Doubles, and Jack O'Shea (Glenbeigh) and Colm O Luing (An Ghaeltacht) in Junior B Doubles brought national glory to the county when they annexed both titles on offer at the Kildare venue.

O'Shea / O Luing were first on court against Meath's Peter Flanagan and Eugene O'Reilly. The Meath men started the brighter before the Kerry duo clicked into gear taking an exciting first game 21-16. Jack and Colm completely dominated the second game and ran out east 21-2 victors; to bring the All-Ireland 40x20 Junior B Doubles title to Kerry for the first time since 1996.

Glenbeigh's Dominick Lynch partnered by fellow clubman John Joe Quirke faced off against Ricky McCann/Paul Graham (Antrim) in the All-Ireland 40x20 Over 35 Doubles decider directly after. In a rip roaring first game McCann and Graham edged it 21-16.

Like their fellow countymen in the Junior B showdown Lynch/Quirke dominated the remainder of the contest taking the second game 21-3 before clinching the title with a 21-8 victory in the deciding third game.

The victory ensured the first ever Over 35 Doubles title for the Kingdom as the small court season comes to an end. A large crowd descended on Glenbeigh on Sunday night welcoming the Kerry ace's home with national glory.

There is one game left in the 40x20 Championship regarding Kerry players. Maria Daly and Ashley Prendiville (Ballymacelligott) put their All-Ireland Senior Doubles title on the line at St. Comans Roscommon when they face off against Caitriona Casey/Aisling O'Keeffe (Ballydesmond – Cork) in the final which gets underway at 2pm.
