Firies had the better of the first quarter and they led 2-3 to no score. Mid way through the first half Sean P O Connor opened Scarts scoring with a point and Conor Casey kicked Scarts second point shortly afterwards. 3 points a piece in the closing stages of the first half left the half time score Firies 2-6 to Scartaglen 0-5. A point from Alan Kerins for Scart in the 55th minute saw the sides level once more at 0-9 each.
