Letters: Apology is due after burning our money

Sir, Taoiseach Enda Kenny should apologise to those who have had special needs assistance and social welfare cuts for wasting €15 million on the Seanad referendum.

They wasted money on a needless referendum when what is required is genuine political reform where the ministers are made answerable to the Dail and Seanad. The elections to the Seanad need to be more democratic and we need a democratic revolution that the Taoiseach promised.

The government need to carry out the reform it promised in the Dail but it must also reform the Seanad.

Is mise le meas,

Senator Mark Daly,
