Road Deaths

The recent June Bank Holiday saw carnage on the country’s roads with 8 people in all losing their lives over the weekend in question. The number of fatalities on Irish roads is sadly on the increase this year with over 30 more deaths than at the corresponding point last year.

This time of year is a very busy one on our roads with people on holidays, silage harvesting sis in progress and school children are on holidays. Gardai have made an appeal for drivers to slow down and take greater care. If you are going to drive: belt up, slow down, expect the unexpected and don’t drink alcohol or take drugs.

Those who have died on Irish roads so far this year should serve to remind us all that taking to the roads is the most dangerous thing we do each day.
