Community Care Lotto

There was no winner of the €10,000 jackpot for the 23rd of May 2022. The numbers drawn by Marianne Nolan were 20,21,24,28. The €50 winner was Kathy M Curran, Lerrig and the two €30 winners were Catherine Godley, Snipefield and Mary O’Flaherty, Kilmoyley.

Sympathies are extended to the Claffey family, Lerrig following the recent sudden passing of Greg Claffey, late of Rosbrien, Limerick city. Greg was a former captain of the Kilmoyley Golf Society and a long-time valued member. He was also a member of Kilmoyley hurling club and was a club delegate to the North Kerry board until last year. Greg was a great supporter of the club and followed the senior team up and down the country and all the way to Croke park in February and he took great pride and delight in the success of his beloved Limerick over the past few years.Greg’s funeral mass took place at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Kilmoyley on Thursday and was buried in the adjoining cemetery following guard of honour by the Kilmoyley golf society. Sincere condolences to Patricia, Timothy, Pierce, Liam, Michelle, Jessica, Lucy, extended family and friends.Ar Sheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Kilmoyley Tidy Towns Fun Run

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid restrictions, Kilmoyley Tidy Towns hosted its annual 5K/10K Fun Run in what has become known locally as the Kilmoyley Miler. As always the heart-warming community spirit of the parish was on full display from the kitchen crew, stewards, bunting team, registration group, those who donated baking, results team, D.J., Kilmoyley Community Care centre members, paramedic and the entire group of Tidy Towns volunteers. Special thanks must also go out to the several generous sponsors who make the event possible each year. Check out the Kilmoyley Tidy Towns Facebook page for a full list of these sponsors and results. Feedback from the event was extremely positive and is testament to the volunteerism within the group. Kilmoyley shone brightly in the May sunshine and so did its people.

The results are as follows:

Ladies 5K 1st Ursula Barrett, 2nd Aine Quane, 3rd Anne McGlynn.

Seal Rescue Volunteers

Seal Rescue Ireland are searching for more people to join our volunteer network, especially along the west coast, where we may receive calls of seals quite far away from our center here in Courtown, Wexford.

Joining the volunteer network would entail a 3 hour zoom call, where you would be trained to assess sick, injured and orphaned seal pups as well as how to lift and assist in transporting them safely toward our center for rehabilitation purposes. Following the training session, you would then be added to our Volunteer Network and contacted when there are pups in need in your local area.

The following is a link to the rescue network info page of our website where you can find more information here:
