Community Care Lotto

There was no winner of the €10,000 jackpot for the 9th of May 2022. The numbers drawn by Jerome O’Connell were 11,14,16,28. The €50 winner was Lovett’s, Ballyhemiken and the two €30 winners were Emma Curran, Lerrig and Muireann Nolan, Ardrahan.

Kilmoyley 5k/10k Miler Fun run

Two weeks to go! The Tidy Towns 5K/10K Fun Run takes place this year on Sunday May 29th at 10am and follows the usual 5K loop of the parish. The event never disappoints in being a truly enjoyable day, so dust off the runners and get the pushchairs ready!

Entries are €15 for 10K, €10 for 5K and €5 for children U16 . There is also a Family Offer - for each adult with three children, one child goes free.

Tidy Towns Thursdays

The Tidy Towns Thursdays group got off to a great start last week and it’s certainly wonderful to be back up-and-running. We meet at the church carpark at 7pm and spend an hour doing a couple of jobs around the parish. So if you feel like helping to ensure our community is a lovely place to live, why not join us any Thursday you’re free!

Ardfert Historical Society

After a lapse of two years our first outdoor guided event is due to take place on Thursday 19 May at 8 pm at Wethers Well, Tubrid, Ardfert. These events usually last an hour and are free to attend.

Attendees are asked to park carefully on the busy approach roads. The Well is about a three minute walk from the road on a grass path.


Kilmoyley’s athletes produced outstanding performances at the recent county juvenile championships, including Aoibhinn O’Driscoll who broke the record in the U12 long jump with a leap of 4.26m while winning 3 gold medals in total. Maddison O’Connor had a super outing also, with a gold in the hurdles and a bronze in the sprint. St Brendan’s AC are delighted to announce that the club finished 3rd in the best overall points at the recent county juvenile championships. The committee thanks all the club community who made this possible, especially the athletes who have worked so hard over the winter and spring in a variety of disciplines.

Schools Sports: The primary schools sports for the St Brendan’s AC area will be held this Wednesday evening (May 18th) at Walnut Grove Field in Station Road, Ardfert at 6pm. The details have been sent to all the schools. See social media for other information.

Knock pilgrimage

The annual Knock Pilgrimage takes place this year on Saturday 18th June 2022. The Eucharistic Adoration National Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on the same week-end 17th/18th June (Corpus Christi week-end). Bus leaves Knockanure/Moyvane on the Saturday 18th June.
