Causeway Camogie

Our 2021 AGM was held on Friday the 19th of November. Chairman Ernest Hanly opened the meeting by thanking all officers, coaches and club referees for their work and commitment throughout the year. There was a massive increase in the number of girls playing camogie with Causeway this year. This was fantastic to see as our club continues to grow. The astro pitch was used every week for our U6 and U8 girls and it was great to see such big numbers turning up every week. Thanks to all their coaches and mentors for their commitment. This year a lot of our young adult camogie players turned their hand to coaching the U10 and U12 teams which was fantastic for all. Our underage players participated in lots of games throughout the summer both at home and away.

These were very enjoyable experiences for all involved. Thanks to the large number of girls playing camogie this year, we were able to field U10, 2@U12, 2@U14, 2@U15, U16, Minor and Junior teams. This ensured that all our players got plenty of game time. Thanks to the parents for ensuring that the girls made training and their matches. It was an action packed few months with plenty of competitions for all the girls with lots of silverware coming back to the club. As a club we have been very lucky to have dedicated trainers and mentors who turn up every week. Sometimes 2 nights a week, sometimes more. Without trainers a club wouldn’t survive. From our U6 to Juniors trainers a big thank you, you are very much appreciated by the players, parents and officers of the club. U12 Div 1 Shield Winners U14 Div 1 Cup Winners U15 Div 2 Feile Winners U16 Div 1 Shield Winners

Minor Winners Our thanks to Limerick Camogie for allowing our Junior team to play in your Summer League. This was massive for the club as it ensured our older girls got plenty of games.

2021 was the year that our club launched its crest. Thanks to Ann, Tee, Helena and Philip Tindall of Easy Designs for their work on this project. Our thanks to Stacy O’Sullivan, Premier Clinic for sponsoring a set of jerseys with our new club crest and for her continued support of our club.

For the first time the club has an online shop with Azzuri for all your club gear. While the club scene was very busy, our girls also donned the green and gold of the county teams. It was great to see so many of our girls play on the Kerry U14, U16, Minor and Intermediate team. Ernest thanked Causeway GAA for their continued support of our club. Ernest also acknowledged the work of the Kerry Camogie Board and thanked them for their support. 2022 promises to be a very exciting year for the club with lots to look forward to.

We would like to welcome two new officers to the club, Tom Bowler (Ballyheigue), Vice Chairman and Sinead Fealy, Registrar.
