Community Council

Progress on our perimeter walkway with lighting is well underway and the pathway should be fully completed within the next few weeks. Ardfert Community Council would like to acknowledge the financial assistance towards the cost of purchasing and installing the lighting as part of the Community Enhancement Programme from Kerry County Council and Department of Rural and Community Development. The lit walkway will be a fantastic free asset for the community as it will allow safe walking on an accessible surface well away from traffic.

ASDEE

Community Development Association

The Asdee Community Development Association would like to thank Kerry County Council for their continued support with their grant funding from the Community Enhancement Programme.

Thanks to this funding, we have been able to purchase a variety of tools and equipment for our work around the Village and the various Village in Bloom projects. This enables the Development to have our own equipment instead of relying on volunteers to bring their own, which is a huge help.

Kerry County Council have been a massive help to our Community with a number of initiatives in recent years and we want to acknowledge the difference their work, financial support and advice has made to the Village and surrounding areas.

Christmas Lights Appeal

The Pandemic has impacted hugely on the Incomes of so many Individuals and Businesses in the town and we the Ballybunion Community Forum were totally dependent on their support but the Forum has now experienced a total collapse in funding. The cost of running the Tourist Office is €6,000 per annum. Our funding model is now broken, which makes our ability to provide for any events, near impossible, but we are going ahead with preparations for this Christmas Season, in particular providing for Christmas trees and Lights.

The local groups have joined forces again this year and hopefully with your help and support we can illuminate our beautiful town as in past years and complement the window displays of the various businesses.

In order to do this, we have no alternative but to once again run another Go Fund Me appeal specifically for the Christmas Lights. We are very grateful to the businesses and individuals who have supported us over the years and we are now appealing once more for your support. In particular, we ask the businesses who haven’t previously supported us, to consider giving a donation towards this worthwhile cause. Please donate what you can on the following link https://www.gofundme.com/f/ballybunion-christmas-lights-appeal?utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheet&utm_medium=chat&utm_source=whatsApp

Kind Regards and in anticipation, thanks to all, Donal Liston Chairman, Ballybunion Community Forum
