They are still finding the odd welly here and there around Kilflynn as the village picks up the pieces of another brilliant Vintage Rally weekend - that included one particular competition which saw contestants flinging wellies as far as they possibly could.

One of the highlights of the local calendar, the Kilflynn Vintage Rally brought a massive crowd in to savour everything from the antique agricultural machinery on display to the myriad novel activities laid on to keep all ages happy.

And it was the Wellington boot-throwing competition that got all the Vintage festivities underway on Friday night, with two categories: Ladies and Gents. It went down a hoot, with some fine performances across both competitions. The only problem was that such was the gusto with which some gumboots were flung they're still only getting round to finding them all!

Saturday witnessed the machinery coming into its own with the vintage tractor, car and motorbike runs bringing a great atmosphere to the surrounds.

And the hurling heartland had plenty to be glued to on Sunday with the Munster senior hurling championship clash on the big screens.

Organisers said they were delighted with the turnout over the weekend in one of the most successful years to date for a long-running Vintage show that just keeps getting better and better.
