Tralee Chamber Alliance have unveiled a new and improved app for the town which it is hoped will help spread the message about the county capital's many attractions and provide a boost to local businesses
Two years ago, Tralee Chamber launched the new app for Tralee as part of their long-term communications plan to support business in Tralee. Over the past number of months, the Chamber has worked with Galway based digital company Booniverse, using its new 'Xplore' web platform to take the App one step further.
The new Tralee App - and shortly the website tralee.ie - has been transformed into a new simple single platform to support locals and visitors to the region with a 'one-stop-shop'.
The app continues to provide guided trails, walks and information for visitors to Tralee, but now it also features information on clubs and services; a community alerts function; details of click and collect services for retailers; digital vouchers; ticket sales opportunities for local events.
A booking platform for the app is currently under development and is to be added soon.
The highly anticipated Xplore Tralee App and Website were launched this week today in the Rose Garden by the Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O'Brien and Minister for Education Norma Foley.
Mayor Terry O'Brien welcomed the new app.
"It is so important now that communities work together and having this digital tool available will help Tralee to connect and engage. We have all become used to living our lives online over the past year, it will be vital now that we use every opportunity available to rediscover all the amazing things we have available in Tralee."
Chamber CEO Ken Tobin explained the next steps for the platform
"The aim of this entirely new platform is to provide a location for everything including local businesses, activities and groups. It's so much more than just a website, it's foundation for the digital infrastructure for Tralee," he said.
"The tools on this platform are already incredible and useful to everybody, which was the aim. We want everybody living in or visiting Tralee to find a use for the app and website. As part of our partnership with Xplore there will be more functions added on an going basis, I will be working with Xplore directly as more towns come on board the platform not only to assist those towns, but also to learn how we can develop more functions into the App to benefit Tralee."
