Thousands of euros and power tools stolen

A five-figure sum of cash was stolen from a house in Causeway in a break-in on Sunday night that occurred during a two-hour period when the occupant was out.

It was one of several crimes in the North Kerry area in recent days now under investigation by gardaí as they appeal for witnesses. The cash was stolen in a house at Cleandries, Causeway, between 10.45pm on Sunday and 12.30am on Monday.

Gardaí are also investigating a burglary of a house in Poulmahaha, Ennismore outside Listowel between 10.30am and 11pm on Friday last in which €1,000 in cash and an iPad were stolen after thieves got in through an unsecured back window.

Meanwhile a stove was stolen from a residential mobile home in Kilmorna, Listowel, and powertool, a lawnmower and furniture stolen from an adjoining shed on the premises between 5pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday. Power tools were also stolen from a commercial garage in Moyvane between Tuesday and Friday last. Contact Listowel Garda Station on (068)21500.
