Fabulous fairies from all around are to frolic in the summer meadows of Kilflynn very shortly indeed - as the village's famous Fairy Festival gets underway for 2019.

Taking place this year on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday 30, Enchanted will see an incredible array of characters and activities in situ in the fairy fields of the locality - in a brilliant weekend of family fun.

Sparking the imaginations of the young is what it is all about.

"The Enchanted little people have decided to bring back the importance of imagination to children and adults and are so excited about this wonderful festival," one of the fairies' main human helpers said this week as they flagged the wide-ranging programme they've put together.

Among the highlights of the weekend will be the magical fairy trail; knights, wizardry and drumming; may-pole dancing and dancing with the fairies; bottle and dummy drop off; a wishing tree; family picnic areas; street entertainment; bouncy castles, face painting; food and crafts fair and lots, lots more. The opening parade takes place at 7.30pm on the Saturday.
