'Sometimes I have to pinch myself' says our Rose Breda

Kerry Rose Breda O'Mahony says she can't wait for the festival to get underway next Wednesday.

The 27-year-old lecturer from Rathmore was speaking to The Kerryman as she met fans during a special appearance organised by festival sponsors Tipperary Crystal at the Carraig Donn outlet on Bridge Street in Tralee on Saturday afternoon.

"You kinda just have these pinch moments when you're walking down the street and you don't even have your sash on you and people are still stopping me in the street to say hello," she said.

"I'm just standing there thinking 'how am I supposed to know you?" said Breda.

"It's still really surreal but its so exciting you know and to think that just over a week away now, it'll all be starting! There's lists left, right and centre and I'm just trying to get things ticked off," she said.

"It's so lovely and there's still people calling to the house and there's posters going up at home so it's been fantastic," Breda said.
