Scanlon takes over as Kerry Group boss
Brosna man Edmond Scanlon (43) has officially succeeded Stan McCarthy as chief executive of Kerry Group.
Mr McCarthy had been chief executive of Kerry Group for the past decade and stepped down from the role at the end of September.
The Tralee based global food giant - which employs 24,000 people worldwide - announced this week that Mr Scanlon - its former Asia-Pacific chief executive officially took over from Mr McCarthy on October 1.
Mr Scanlon joined Kerry Group in 1996 after graduating from University College, Cork. He has held a number of senior roles at the company.
When news of his appointment was announced in February Mr Scanlon said he was "honoured and privileged" to take over as CEO.
Stan McCarthy has joined the board of Ryanair in a non executive role.
