Milltown/Castlemaine GAA club is going through a very bright patch in terms of finding lottery winners of late, as John Quirke of Gransha Lower, Castlemaine, became the club's second jackpot winner in as many months.

Mr Quirke was the lucky recipient of a €6,200 cheque from the club recently, bringing to more than €30,000 the amount in lotto prize winnings handed over by Milltown/Castlemaine since August 9.

"I would like to thank all those who support our Club Lotto week in, week out, and we are delighted to reward John Quirke, the Sheehy Family, Rathpook, and all other recent winners," Chairperson Podge Leane said. "The Lotto Jackpot is our only ongoing fundraiser, and the club relies heavily on it, along with the goodwill of our members and local contributions to support the general day to day running of the club."

Tickets for the lottery are available from a range of local shops, pubs, and business, costing €2 for one ticket and €5 for three. The jackpot is currently over €5,000.
