There are over 1,000 job vacancies waiting to be filled in Kerry according to the backers of a new campaign aimed at attracting people to live and work in the county.

The campaign - which involves 14 major local employers including Liebherr, Fexco and Dairymaster - will involve an extensive advertising campaign and a jobs expo next April.

A roadside campaign will provide the backbone of the advertising campaign. This will involve the erection of road signs all over the county advertising the fact that there are 1,000 job vacancies in the county.

It will specifically reference some of Kerry's largest employers who are either currently recruiting or will be recruiting in the near future.

The campaign was designed by Elin Sorensen Of GHQ Design and Fred McDonagh of Redchair Recruitment who said it was a "particularly exciting campaign to work on.

Some of the job vacancies will be showcased at the Kerry EXPO in the INEC Killarney on April 9 2017.

Campaign and EXPO organiser Liz Maher is hoping that those visiting the county over the Christmas will mark their calendar and return to Kerry for the EXPO.

The main companies and bodies involved in the campaign are Liebherr; JRI America; Fexco; Tricel; Borg Warner; TLI; Gleneagle Group; Aspengrove; Dairymaster; Supervalu; Bon Secours Group; Lee Strand; Alps; Ballyseedy Garden Centre; Kerry County Council; Kerry GAA; Kerry District League; IDA and Enterprise Ireland.
