Local carpenters have offered their services to repair the damage caused by vandals to a defibrillator box on Main Street in Killarney on Saturday night.

Vandals damaged the phone box, which holds the vital life-saving equipment, during the bank holiday weekend.

The defibrillator was not damaged.

This defibrillator was previously damaged some years ago.

The Heart of Killarney group, who has helped install the defibrillators around the town, said they are disappointed at the damage caused but thanked everyone for the support they have received, especially from Kerry County Council and local gardaí. The damage is minor and will be repaired quickly.

The Heart of Killarney group has some exciting projects coming up and will be putting in place more defibrillators in strategic locations around the town.

Anyone who notices any damage to defibrillators in the town should contact local gardaí.
