Members of Kenmare Choral Society have not let the lull in competitions around this time of year get them down it seems, as they get set for two busy nights of events over the festive period, including a wonderful night of music on a brand new Yamaha Grand Piano.

The first of these two events will take place in Pobalscoil Inbhear Scéine on the night of Saturday, December 17, when members of the Choral Society committee will be lending their significant musical talents to the first night of Music and the Arts in Pobalscoil, featuring Kieran Finnegan on piano, Maria O'Connor on cello, and Harry O'Connor on violin.

The night will hold extra significance for the society as it was instrumental in helping to bring the new piano to the school following a significant donation to help with the funding of the instrument.

The evening will begin at 7:30pm and tickets will cost €15. Seating on the night will be limited so it is advised that people reserve their tickets by contacting Kathlyn on 086 812 5015 or by email on kathlynkenmare@gmail.com

The festive cheer and spirit of the society will again be out in force the following day, Sunday, December 18, when members of the society's choir will head over to the Holy Cross Church in Kenmare for a bountiful bunch of festive songs.

This free 'Annual Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long' will start at 2.30pm and is an event that promises to be fun for all the family and the best way of getting into the Christmas spirit.
