KCFE takes to the skies
Following a rigorous application process, Kerry College of Further Education, Tralee has been successful in securing the Erasmus Plus programme for future students of the college.
This in an EU funded scheme and it provides an option for adult learners at KCFE to complete the work experience part of their course abroad.
Learners who are successful in securing an Erasmus placement will qualify for a grant towards the cost of travel, accommodation and living expenses. In addition, they will receive language and cultural preparation prior to departure.
"This exciting development marks new territory for KCFE and offers a host of benefits for learners," said Mary Murphy, PRO for the college.
"Learners will be presented with an opportunity to gain relevant vocationally specific work experience in an international setting whilst experiencing living in another culture. It will foster independence and build self-esteem and of course enhance the learners CV. We plan on introducing the international work placements on a small scale initially and increasing our involvement with the scheme as time goes by," she added.
