Horse racing returns to Ballybeggan

A CROWD of 2,500 racing enthusiasts made their way to Tralee on Sunday as racing returned to the Ballybeggan course. Point to Point meeting held in Ballybeggan Racecourse on Sunday.

People from all over Kerry, Munster and beyond travelled to Tralee to watch seven Pont to Point races take place over the day.

The family day out catered for all ages as there was bouncy castles, face painting and pony rides for children to enjoy.

"We could not have asked for a more perfect day, everything ran smoothly," said Eugene O'Sullivan, PRO North Kerry Harriers.

"Entry to the racing was €8, a racing card was €2 and a free bus was also provided to the event. All of the proceeds go towards the running of Point to Point Racing events and we are looking forward to the next one which will take place in Ballybunion on Sunday April 10, we would also love to hold another day in Tralee," said Mr O'Sullivan.
