Green Party leader Eamonn Ryan was in Kerry last week to meet his party's local election candidates and rally the troops ahead of the council ballots in May.

Mr Ryan was guest of honour at an event at Tralee's Rose Hotel, where he was joined by the party's Tralee area candidate Anne Marie Fuller; Dingle area candidate Michael Fitzgerald; and Cleo Murphy, who is representing the party in the Kenmare area.

The Tralee event was hosted by Green Party Senator Grace O'Sullivan, who is contesting the European Election in Ireland South for the Greens. During his two-day visit to Kerry, Deputy Ryan took part in a number of other events.

Those included a visit to meet local school students who were taking part in the national day of action as part of the young people's Climate Strike movement.
