Fisheries authority host information breakfast in Tralee
The Sea-Fisheries Protection Authority (SFPA) will host a special Fishing Industry Information Breakfast for the South West's fishermen, processors and shellfish producers at Tralee's Rose Hotel next month.
The information breakfast takes place on Wednesday December 7, and is part of a series of information events scheduled for the coming months.
It's free to attend, and inspection requirements, landing obligations and technical measures are among the topics up for discussion. SFPA Chair Susan Steele said 'we are looking forward to meeting many more fishermen, processors and producers in Kerry.'
"Advances in technology and production, as well as new EU regulations are leading to significant changes to the fishing industry in Ireland," she added.
"This is a one-stop opportunity to learn more about these changes and have their queries on important issues answered personally by experts."
The SFPA will be joined by representatives from a wide range of organisations, including BIM; Inland Fisheries Ireland; the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine; the Workplace Relations Commission, and more.
The event is billed to begin at 8am, and will continue until 12pm. Places are limited, and anyone interested in attending can register by emailing email@example.com before Friday December 2.
