The latest edition of the annual Dromtrasna Challenge has come and gone this weekend and once more, it has been hailed as a huge success by both organisers and participants.

Thanks to this success, two very worthy charities - the Abbeyfeale Day Care Centre and the Milford Care Centre - are now set to benefit from the participation of the 630 runners who took to the roads of Dromtrasna on Saturday afternoon where runners had a choice of taking part in either a  2k, 5k or 10k run.

Speaking after the success of the event, organisers were hugely appreciative of everyone who took part and all the volunteers who helped make the run such a success.

"We would like to thank each and everyone of you that made the day such a wonderful success. Many thanks to the volunteers who helped with stewarding, registration, ticket selling, catering, water stops, video, photography, online presence and entertainment," said the organisers.

"A special word of thanks to the staff of Dromtrasna National School. They have embraced the Dromtrasna Challenge as their own since we started in 2014. We are blessed to have such a fantastic group of people who are always willing to help. We really appreciate your commitment to Dromtrasna Challenge," they continued.

As for 2020, it can already been revealed that next year's event will take place on Saturday October 17, 2020.
