Diamond ball raises €17,000 for Enable Ireland Kerry branch
Seán Scally of Enable Ireland Kerry services has said that he is "absolutely thrilled" that the recently held Diamond Ball has managed to raise a whopping €17,000 for the charity.
The night, which was held in the Ballygarry House Hotel on February 13, was one of the most highly anticipated events of the year so far, and speaking to Seán on Tuesday, he said the event went down a treat.

"For a first-time event, it's a brilliant result. We're very happy with it. We had a great night and everyone had a good time. There was a great buzz, we had a good raffle, and the numbers were very good, so it was all very positive," he said.
"We were able to get the message out there to people about what we do and the services that we provide here in Kerry," he continued.
As to what the money raised will be spent on, Seán said that it will all be used to help keep the service running.
"It's all to help keep the show on the road. We need to fundraise, we run at a deficit and events such as the ball enable us to simply keep providing the services that we do," he said.
For those who missed this year's event or for those who were at it and simply can't wait to go back, Seán was delighted to assure us that they are currently working on bringing the ball back on Valentine's weekend again next year.
Thanking all of those who sponsored or donated to the cause, Seán said that all the support they received was appreciated.
