Coke bust in Tarbert

Gardaí netted up to €10,000-worth of cocaine in a raid at a house in Tarbert on Thursday.

Detectives from Listowel along with gardaí from Listowel and Tarbert raided the house in the village at around 9.30pm on Thursday, discovering the cocaine as it was being prepared for sale.

Gardaí spoke to a number of people at the scene. No arrests were made but the matter is now being investigated.

It was the latest in a number of successful operations targeting the sale and supply of the highly-addictive drug in the North Kerry area in recent months amid fears of its resurgence post-recession.

The operation was mounted on 'foot of intelligence', gardaí said.
