Charged with possession of over €5k worth of cocaine
A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Listowel man charged with possession of over €5,000 worth of cocaine for the purpose of sale and supply.
The warrant was issued at Listowel District Court on Thursday for Cormac Lawrence of 20 Meenish Close, Listowel, after he failed to appear when his case was called a second time.
It is alleged that gardaí found the drugs during a search of the man's property on March 17 of this year. He is charged with possession of €5,170 worth of cocaine and possession of the drug for the purpose of sale and supply.
Sergeant Kieran O'Connor told the court that the DPP had elected for the case to be dealt with at District Court level, but only on a guilty plea, with Mr Lawrence's solicitor indicating that he 'understands that would be the case'.
A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Mr Lawrence at the request of Sergeant O'Connor.
