Aqua Dome marks 25 years in business

As the Aqua Dome celebrated 25 years of business on Tuesday Centre Manager Mags O'Sullivan says that management and staff are proud and delighted to reach this important milestone.

Since opening its doors 25 years ago, over four million happy customers have passed through the attraction and lots of happy experiences and wonderful memories have been created.

Mags thanked all the staff, customers, members, contractors and suppliers who have supported the Aqua Dome over the years and said she credits the vision and dedication of the board of directors as one of the keys to the nationally renowned attraction's huge success.

The main reason the Aqua Dome was built was to provide a state-of-the-art facility which would attract customers from every walk of life and bring business to Tralee. In this regard it has been a huge success with visitors coming from all over Ireland and all around the world. The Aqua Dome has been and continues to be an important resource for the town of Tralee contributing millions to the local economy. It also plays a significant role in putting Tralee and Kerry on the map.

"The Aqua Dome is the place to be for fun, fitness and total body relaxation all under a magnificent glass dome. Whether you want to swim laps around the lazy river, surf the waves, get fit in the gym or simply relax in the adult only Vitality Spa it all going on for you to enjoy," said Mags.

"Time spent in the Vitality Spa can be a space to pamper yourself in much needed 'me' time, to chill out, relax, recharge, reflect, detox and re-energise. Here you can enjoy all the benefits of varying degrees of heat therapy alternating with a refreshing dip in the invigorating cool pool. Heated seats and heated loungers are also available for total body relaxation and piped music and ambient lighting all enhance the total body relaxation experience."

Alongside the Aqua Dome there is also Aqua Golf an exciting 18 hole miniature golf course that is fun for all the family and can be enjoyed by young and old.

This year saw the Aqua Dome embarking on an environmental journey and management and staff are currently striving to make positive environmental changes to reduce their carbon footprint and mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.

Management at the Aqua Dome say they hope to inspire everyone in their daily lives and businesses to do their bit for the planet and are leading by example by sharing all the positive changes being made at the amenity on the environmental blog on the Aqua Dome website and through the attraction's social media channels.

There's a host of other services, amenities and classes to enjoy at the Aqua Dome and you can find out all about them at www.aquadome.ie
