Top Irish model Alannah Beirne is set to be the star attraction at this year's Rose of Tralee Fashion Show. Beirne will star as the special guest on the catwalk, while Erika Fox - the Glenbeigh born fashion and lifestyle blogger -will choose the best-dressed lady.

Erika is currently based in New York. Through blogging, she has worked with brands such as Tom Ford, Google, Land Rover USA, Vera Wang and Samsung.

The Zipyard Ireland managing director Caroline Wallace will co-judge the Designer of the Year Awards with Erika Fox, and she will present the winning designer with the €1,000 cash prize along with trophy.

Alannah Beirne, a finalist in Britain's Next Top Model and a celebrity participant in RTÉ's Dancing with the Stars, is no stranger to the Festival as she is the daughter of the 1983 Rose of Tralee Brenda Hyland. Kerry native Tina Griffin, last year's winner of the Designer of the Year Award, will co-create four unique looks with award-winning milliner Carol Kennelly.

These will be exclusively modelled by Alannah. Make-up for the show will be applied by the skilled team at CH The Mall Tralee; Cathriona's Hair Group, Castlegregory, Tralee and Dingle will style the models' hair; and Footprints Show Boutique, Listowel will supply the shoes on the night.

The organisers of the fashion show - which is usually one of the most popular events at the Rose of Tralee Festival - said they wanted to give the event a make-over this year with "a major emphasis on providing the ultimate girls' night out". The Fashion Show will be on Sunday August 19.
