The Kerry Hospice Foundation are calling on the people of Kerry to support sunflower day this Friday and Saturday, June 8 and 9, to raise funds for cancer services across the county.

RTÉ Journalist, Katie Hannon, from Duagh, who is a patron of the Kerry Hospice Foundation was on hand at the weekend to launch the official fundraising day for the Kerry branch and to urge everyone to play their part and help raise funds for a very worthy cause.

The funds raised through Sunflower day will fund the recently opened in-patient unit of the Kerry Hospice Foundation as well as their day unit and home care services.

Sunflower pins will be on sale across Kerry meanwhile.

A special presentation was also made at the weekend by Chairman of Kerry Hospice Foundation, Joe Henneberry to the Kerry Hospice Hero for 2018, Sr Margaret from Listowel branch.
