Calling all motorcycle enthusiasts in West Limerick and further afield, an upcoming charity 'Poker Run' in aid of the Hope Foundation needs your support.

Taking place on Sunday September 29 from Jack O'Rourkes bar in Abbeyfeale, this fundraiser is being organised by Steven Gleeson in an effort to help send his teenage daughter, Shannon, a TY  student in Coláiste Íde agus Iosef in Abbeyfeale over to Kolkata in March of next year.

While in India, she will spend a week working alongside other members of the Hope Foundation as they seek to help improve the lives and protect street and slum children in Kolkata.

By extending support to children and their communities via 60 on the ground projects, the Hope Foundation helps to provide sustainable holistic solutions to their protection and development.

By providing healthcare, counselling and education, HOPE ensures children in its care enter adulthood equipped with the tools and support they need to live healthy and happy lives.

The charity 'Poker Run' will involve the motorcyclists stopping off at five different locations in Kerry and West Limerick on the run, they will then each draw a playing card from each location and whoever has the best hand of cards when they return to Jack O'Rourkes Bar at the end of the day, will receive a prize.

Registration is available on the day for just €10 per bike and it will take place at 10:30am in the bar with the first bikes set to head out on the road at 12pm. For information, call Steven on 087 627 4985.
