Senior Alert Scheme info
Community groups in Kerry have been encouraged to attend an information meeting on a new Senior Alert Scheme for over 65s, at which attendees will receive a free, monitored alarm.
The Kerry leg of the nationwide meetings will take place on November 15 in the Dromhall Hotel in Killarney, and those interested in attending are asked to register with administrator Pobal.ie. Groups that would like to administer the scheme in their localities are also encouraged to attend.
"The Seniors' Alert Scheme is a community response to keeping people connected to enable them live in their homes with confidence and independence," Pobal Deputy CEO Jerry Murphy said.
"I would encourage all those with older family members or neighbours to contact their local community group to learn more about the Scheme. Find out about your local community group at www.pobal.ie or call 01 5117222."
