It may still be over a month away at this stage but excitement is already building in the town - and further afield - for the second year of the Listowel Endurance Festival. This years festival is running on Saturday September 22 and Sunday 23 with four options available for runners to choose from on the day.

These four options are the 24hr run, the 12hr, the 6hr and the 3hr options; runners will tackle the very same route as last year around the Listowel Town Park - with medals and t-shirts set to be provided to finishers at all levels. The run is this year again being organised by the Kerry Crusaiders running group organiser Vinny said the group are looking forward to another fantastic event - with some new additions thrown in as well.

"This year, we have a new addition to the three hour run. We have this 7k concept which basically means that people will be doing 7k  to start each hour and their times will be accumulated. It's a more fun version really that we're trying out," said Vinny. People can register for this years run at the 'Listowel Endurance Festival' Facebook page.
