Packed schedule of events at St John's

THERE'S a busy year ahead for St John's Parish where the Pastoral Council has just unveiled a packed schedule of events for the coming 12 months.

On Monday the Parish Pastoral Council and the clergy of St John's Parish gathered at the St John's Parish Centre to launch the Parish Faith Programme for the next year.

The programme, which covers both the regular work of the parish and special events throughout the year, will be presented to parishioners at weekend Masses on September 28 and 29 and copies of the programme will be available in all the parish's churches

Parish Priest of Tralee, Father Seán Hanafin explained the importance of the programme.

"In it, we set out our parish activities for the year, to let people know what's going on and to invite them to get involved. Our parish team of priests, staff and volunteers try to offer something for everyone from our Sunday morning children's liturgy for pre-First Communion children and our day for Transition Year Students, to our work in faith formation with adults through weekly scripture sessions and talks throughout the year," he said.

"I think that even regular parishioners may be surprised at the sheer variety of events and activities on our programme," Father Hanafin added.
