New management initiative comes to Kerry

A NEW initiative to help managers of small and medium firms build their management capability has arrived in Kerry.

ManagementWorks, a Skillnet-funded training network for SME Managers under the Government's Action Plan for Jobs, provides subsidised management training and coaching for managers of small and medium enterprises.

The network is rolling out a series of subsidised management development programmes designed specifically for managers of small and medium firms in locations around the country. The first Kerry-based programme commences in July 2013.

ManagementWorks launched the new programme by hosting two free business seminars in Tralee and Killarney on Thursday last. The seminars, delivered by Paul Fagan and Helen Byrnes of ActionCOACH, were attended by business owners and managers from across the county and focused on the key drivers of growth and profitability in small businesses.

They provided managers with an opportunity to take a step back from their businesses for a few hours and to take a fresh look at the actions they had planned for 2013 to generate sales, improve cash flow and increase profits. They also served as a useful taster for those managers interested in participating in the larger programme.

Applications are now being accepted for the ManagementWorks Management Development Programme commencing in Killarney in July 2013. To secure a place or to find out more, visit the ManagementWorks website at
