'Lip Along To The Song' this Saturday in aid of the Áras Mhuire Nursing Home
Áras Mhuire Nursing Home will be the main beneficiary of an upcoming night of singing and dancing in the Listowel Community Centre.
'Lip Along to the Song' will be held on the night of Saturday March 9; the event will feature artists and songs from 'The Greatest Showman', 'Moulin Rouge', 'Glee', 'The Cranberries', 'Adele' and 'Abba' plus many, many more.
There will be 10 groups taking part on the night, including a group comprised of staff from the nursing home itself.
"The group of staff that will be performing, they will be doing an act that reflects the youthful spirit that we try to express here," said Trish Joy of Áras Mhuire Nursing Home. "We are a nursing home that promotes living life to the fullest. We have one man in his 80's going on his very flight soon," she continued.
Radio Kerry's own Brendan Fuller will be the MC on the night. All money raised from the event on Saturday night will be going towards helping to convert some of smaller rooms in the home into bigger single and double bed rooms.
An independent nursing home, this means that the centre receives no HSE funding and as a result, they are faced with having to pay off a €250,000 debt for the renovations. The nursing home is also set to benefit from the upcoming Ring of Kerry to help service this debt.
Tickets for the 'Lip Along to the Song' are currently on sale from the Listowel Community Centre and Con Dillons Bar and they will cost €20. Doors for this great night of music will open at 7pm with the show itself set to start at around 8pm.
