A fundraising variety concert in aid of the St John of God Kerry Services is taking place on the night of Friday April 26 in the Tinteán Theatre in Ballybunion. The concert will feature a number of great acts from around the county, all of whom are giving their time to help raise funds for the worthy cause.

Some of the acts who will be performing on the night include Timmy Flaherty on the banjo, Sonny Egan, Francis Kennedy, Brian Murphy, the Ballybunion Comhaltas group, the Listowel Comhaltas and the Johnny Cronin Band. Speaking ahead of the night, one of the organisers, Danny Finucane from the St John of God Services said that this fundraiser is just the start of their fundraising efforts.

"It might be a bit hopeful but we are hoping to raise somewhere between €5,000 and €6,000  from the concert in the Tinteán," he said, speaking to The Kerryman.

Doors open at 7:30pm on the evening with door tickets set to cost just €10. All money raised from this event will go towards helping to bus a bus for the service. Extra incentive to attend the great night of music is the fact that there will be a special prize of €100 on the door ticket.
