Damaged paving stones in The Mall to be replaced

CRACKED and loose paving stones on The Mall should be replaced within the next few weeks.

The issue of loose and dangerous paving stones and cracked paths in Tralee was raised by Cllr Norma Foley at Tralee Municipal District's monthly meeting on Monday.

Cllr Foley said several pedestrians fell and injured themselves in recent weeks in the town centre and it was only because of the decent attitude of those who had fallen that the council is not facing potentially costly compensation cases.

Kerry County Council Engineer Colm Lynch said replacement slabs and paving stones have been purchased and work to fix pathways in the area would get underway soon.

Management said work to repair paths in other areas would be carried out as soon as possible.
