Cyclists from around the county are being asked to hop onto their bikes, don their lycra and high-vis vests and set off on the annual Jimmy Duffy memorial cycle this weekend.

Taking part on the morning of Saturday, January 13, cyclists will take part in a bike ride from St Pats GAA club in Blennerville to Castleisland and back again, all in memory of local man, Jimmy, who died in a house fire in the area back in 2010.

Last years event was a foggy affair, to say the least, but this did not stop over 130 hardy cyclists braving the unpleasant conditions.

Registration for the cycle will cost €5 per person and €15 per family - this will be charged on the day - and registration will commence on the morning at 10am; all further enquiries to Maurice Hanafin (087) 2998206.
