There are only two Handed Down programmes left in the present series. How the time has flown .Our choice to present a rare Sliabh Luachra treasure was easy. Presenting his thoughts on the playing of Seamus Ennis and Denis Murphy, Lisheen and our rare reel to reel recordings will be piper and radio broadcaster Peter Browne as he knew both men and the house it was found in.
The recordings found in the attic in Lisheen were dispatched to Dublin and Peter will return on Sat Mar 21 once more to Scartaglin where he first visited as a child.
Seamus Ennis played a huge role in Sliabh Luachra history by recording and broadcasting Pádraig O Keeffe to the world and many other locals afterwards.
He also of course played and socialised in Scartaglin with O'Keeffe outside of his work as the two men were kindred spirits. To celebrate this, we have decided to devote the middle section of the night to piping with special guest pipers appearing after our usual young musicians.
Young musicians, Caoimhe, Shona, Eoin Murphy Abbeyfeale Muireann O Connor Cullen, Ballybunion CCE featuring Jimmy Boyle's grand daughters Guest Pipers Seán Michael Redican Tralee, Rob Fell Firies, Brian MacAodha Rockchapel, Pádraic MacMathuna Dublin, Peter Browne Dublin.

Scartaglen got their Division 4 County League campaign off to a flying and winning start with a well deserved 1-10 to 1-4 victory over Firies at Farranfore on Sunday last. An injury time penalty awarded when Pa Rahilly was brought down in the small square and which was converted by Shay Walsh put this issue beyond doubt and Scartaglen were delighted with this victory. They are scheduled to play Renard on Sunday next.
