SOME of the top specialists in the field of education and learning have been recruited to staff the new Castleisland Tuition Centre – which held an open evening earlier this week for the benefit of potential clients.

Marcus and Deirdre Kearney, having had difficulty in sourcing support for their own childrens' education, identified a need for a quality grinds centre which would cater for all subjects in the area of primary and secondary level under the one roof. The centre will enhance the work of the primary and secondary level schools locally.

Also they saw that support for children with literacy difficulties was needed and, as a result, have recruited a highly qualified dyslexia teacher from the Dyslexia Association of Ireland.

"The centre is the first of its kind in Castleisland and will be welcomed by both parents and teachers alike," said Deirdre Kearney.

"Parents will be happy in the knowledge that they will no longer have to travel long distances to other towns and that their children can now avail of high quality tuition locally," she said.

"Our goals are to provide the highest standard of tuition and to help students reach their full potential by building their confidence and knowledge in their chosen subjects. This will be achieved by the careful selection of high quality educators who will be committed to the success of our students. The centre will operate in a safe and friendly environment with small class sizes ensuring individual needs are met.

Grinds will be provided on all core subjects in both higher and honours ie: Irish, English, Maths and French as well as Science, Biology, Accounting and Business Studies. Regular assessment of student's progress will be undertaken by teachers and feedback will be given to both students and parents making the experience of extra tuition an altogether more fruitful one for the student," said Ms. Kearney.
